Honda unveiled the new CB 400 series of bikes today at the Osaka Motorcycle Show in Japan. The trio of bikes comprising of the CBR 400R sports bike, CB 400F street bike and the CB 400X enduro tourer are very similar to the CB 500 series launched earlier. While sharing the chassis and suspension components with the 500 series, the CB 400 bikes employ a downsized-version of the 471cc parallel twin, now displacing 400cc, with an estimated power output of 40bhp.
Although these motorcycles are intended mainly for the Japanese Domestic Market, Honda might introduce them into other price conscious Asian markets like India, Thailand and Indonesia, where Honda needs a product to compete with the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the upcoming KTM 390 Duke. Expect the CB 400 series to make an Indian entrance by early 2014.
