Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has kick-started its financial year with the launch of the highly anticipated Activa 125. First showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi earlier this year, the Activa 125 is an all-new scooter, and features a new 125cc engine and various other key upgrades.
The 125cc single cylinder engine takes the power and torque output up to 8.6 bhp and 10.12 Nm respectively. While the increase in power is only marginal, it arrives at a full 1000 rpm earlier than the 110cc model, which should make for some sprightly acceleration and quick overtakes. The archaic trailing link front suspension makes way for more modern telescopic forks, which should improve the ride quality. The Activa 125 also gets Combi-Braking System (CBS) and tubeless tyres as standard, with alloy wheels and a front disc brake as optional.
The Honda Activa 125 is available in two variants, Standard which comes with steel wheels and drum brakes on both wheels with CBS, and the Deluxe version that comes equipped with alloy wheels and a front disc brake with CBS. The Activa 125 Standard is priced at Rs 52,447 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and the Activa 125 Deluxe is priced at Rs 58,156 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
