Honda CD110 Dream Launched In India At Rs 41,100!

By Harshavardhan Kylas

Honda has again taken everyone by surprise with the discreet launch of yet another motorcycle for the 100cc commuter segment. The new CD110 Dream, a bare-bones version of the already basic Dream Neo, is now Honda’s cheapest motorcycle yet, at Rs 41,100 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Honda CD110 Dream is similar in design and styling to the Dream Neo. The bike comes with the tried-and-tested 110cc engine similar to the ones found in the Dream series as well as Honda’s scooters.  The conventional air cooled, 4-stroke engine is capable of producing a peak power of 8.25 bhp @ 7500 rpm, and a peak torque of 8.63 Nm at 5500 rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 4-speed gearbox.

If the Honda Dream Neo’s handling and performance are anything to go by, it should suffice to say that the lightweight CD110 Dream should be an able performer. The bike has been designed to combat the unpleasant roads in India, with good suspension travel and high ground clearance. The seats have also been made long and wide to provide comfort to the rider. Other salient features include alloy wheels, kick-start, new body graphics, tubeless tyres, and a maintenance free battery. The bike will be available in three colour schemes – black with grey stripes, black with red stripes and black with blue.

The CD110 Dream is mainly targeted at the rural and semi-urban cities with a price tag that should favour most frugal Indians. Honda has definitely made it clear with the CD 110 Dream that it is not willing to settle for anything short of Number One status in the Indian market. It remains to be seen if the new bike will have the kind of impact that Honda hopes to achieve to take on the might of Hero MotoCorp and the Splendor series.
