Mahindra Two-Wheelers is all set to launch a new scooter, named ‘Gusto’ on September 29th 2014. Earlier codenamed ‘G101’, the new scooter will put to use a 110cc air-cooled 4-stroke engine that produces a laudable 8bhp of power and 8.5 Nm of torque, features a host of traits such as all-aluminium construction, stronger crankshaft and bearings, a powerful HT ignition coil, high inertia magneto and series regulator.
Mr.Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive of the Farm Equipment & Two Wheeler Division & Member of the Executive Board said that the Gusto will first be made available in the Northern and Western markets of India and Nepal, followed by the Southern and Eastern markets of India as well as South Asia, Central America and Africa, in the following months.
Expect the Gusto to be priced between Rs.43,000 – Rs. 48,000 (ex-showroom). The scooter will face competition from the TVS Jupiter, Honda Activa, Yamaha Ray and the Hero Maestro. Watch this space for more updates!
