The Yamaha Fazer finally has a proper competitor. Enter the Gixxer SF, Suzuki’s first new bike launch this year. Compared to standard Gixxer, the difference is obvious – the SF comes with a full-fairing. The fairing has been developed in the Suzuki’s wind tunnels alongside their larger-capacity superbikes, and has been styled carefully to seamlessly integrate into the bike’s design. It offers the best possible wind protection for the rider at high-speeds, while making the bike look really cool in the process.
The addition of the fairing though has increased the bike’s kerb weight by 4 kilos to 139 kg. Apart from that, the SF is pretty much same as the naked Gixxer, powered by a 155cc air-cooled single cylinder engine that pumps out 14.6 bhp & 14 Nm of torque, running the same cycle parts. The Suzuki Gixxer SF is pegged as a sports bike, although we reckon it would make a decent tourer.
The Suzuki Gixxer SF is priced at Rs 92,596 (on-road, Delhi) for the Glass Sparkle Black and Pearl Mirage White variants, while the MotoGP Special Edition in Metallic Triton Blue retails for Rs 94,238 (on-road, Delhi). We will be vetting the bike thoroughly in our ChooseMyBike.in Review the following week, so stay tuned!
