The Hero Hunk has always been outshone by more competent motorcycles in the 150 cc segment. However, the bike is still a great value-for-money proposition. 2016 is fast approaching and as result, Hero Motocorp has updated the Hunk to make it more appealing to the masses. The update involves both cosmetic as well as powertrain tweaks, which makes it more appealing than ever before.
At first glance, you won’t notice too many changes on the bike’s exterior. Look closely and you will notice that the 2016 version has a black paint scheme on the lower part of the bike. Other prominent changes include a new headlight, new sporty graphics and a re-designed saree guard. The semi-digital instrument cluster now has a side stand indicator as well. The Hunk is now available in 6 colours-Brown, Black, Matte Black, Grey, Silver and Red. Most of the other parts including the tail lamps, rear view mirrors and indicators are carried over from the current model.
The 2016 Hero Hunk is equipped with the following features:
The Hero Hunk is equipped with a more powerful 150cc engine that now produces 15.6 bhp of power at 8500 rpm and has a peak torque output of 13.5 Nm at 7000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. The suspension setup remains the same. The Hunk is equipped with telescopic forks at the front and a twin-shock setup at the rear. Front disc brake is standard whereas rear disc brakes are optional.
The 2016 Hero Hunk is vastly improved from the model it replaces. The bold new metallic colours have enhanced the appeal of the bike. The improved performance from the more powerful engine completes the package. Hero Motocorp has also priced the bikes aggressively. The disc brake variant is priced at Rs. 69,725 and the Double-disc brake variant is priced at Rs. 72,825(Both ex-showroom Delhi). Stay tuned for a detailed review of the 2016 Hero Hunk.
