Japanese motorcycle giant Kawasaki has released the official unveiling video of the 2016 ZX-10R-a litre-class sports bike in Barcelona during the end of 2015. Over the last couple of years, the Super Sports segment has experienced tremendous growth in terms of rider technology. The new ZX-10R has been fully updated and is not at par with the competition in this segment.
Due to the thoroughly revised engine, the new ZX-10R is expected to perform much better than the model it replaces. The changes are not limited to electronics and engine. The frame and the fairing are also completely redesigned. At first glance, the fairing looks very similar to the previous gen model, but upon closer inspection, we can see that the new bike gets a fuller front fairing. The suspension duty is carried out by Ohlins electronic steering damper and Showa gas forks. The 998cc engine develops a peak power of 200 bhp and has a peak torque output of 114 Nm.
The ZX-10R is equipped with cutting edge technology like quick-shifter (for fast upshifts), engine braking control, traction control, Launch control and inertia-measurement unit. All these rider aids are expected to enhance the experience of riding the ZX-10R on the track.
The Kawasaki ZX-10R is expected to be launched this week in Malaysia at the Sepang racing Circuit. Stay tuned for more details.
