The Transport department of the state of Telangana has launched the M-Wallet app for smartphones. This first-of-its kind app aims to make carrying necessary documents hassle-free. An individual has to download the app from the app store and upload the relevant documents using only his/her phone. This means that one does not have to carry a physical copy of the Driving License, Insurance details, Registration Certificate etc. All one has to do is to open the app and show the documents when needed.

The app was launched by Mr. K Taraka Rama Rao, Minister of Information Technology 26th March. The app can be downloaded free of cost. The user has to feed information like his/her name and phone number to register with the app. If an officer of the law wants to see your license, insurance etc, it’s within your right to show the documents on the M-Wallet.

Other than the fact that this system will make carrying documents hassle-free, it will also help one avoid unnecessary fines for not carrying a license, Registration Certificate etc. We feel that this is a brilliant idea and should be implemented in other states as well. Stay tuned for more information in this segment.
