In addition to the all-new Access 125, Suzuki motorcycles also showcased two new variants of its 150cc bikes- The Gixxer and the Gixxer SF. The Gixxer is one of the models in Suzuki’s line-up as it caters to the performance hungry, young souls in the Indian two-wheeler market. Both the bikes get minor feature upgrades to stay competitive in this ever growing segment.
All variants of the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF will now be available with a rear disc brake. This is the only change on the naked Gixxer. The Gixxer SF gets an addition feature namely electronic fuel injection. This piece of technology will only be available on the Gixxer SF MotoGP variant. The addition of rear disc brakes will result in improved stability during hard braking. The addition of electronic fuel injection will help in better throttle response.
The company claims that the mileage will also improve as a result of fuel injection. Suzuki has also announced that these performance bikes will be available in two new colours- Metallic Lush Green / Glass Sparkle Black Dual Tone (Gixxer) and Candy Antares Red / Glass Sparkle Black Dual Tone (Gixxer SF).
The Gixxer is currently one of the best bikes in the 150-160cc segment. Suzuki has played it safe by not making any modifications to the exterior of the bike. Instead, the Japanese manufacturer has only added some crucial features which makes the bike more appealing than before. Suzuki has not revealed the price tag for the Gixxer and Gixxer SF Fi. The success of these bikes will largely depend on the price tags.
