To show that it is still bullish about success in the fast-growing Indian scooter market, Yamaha has added yet another new scooter to its line-up. The new Ray RZ is a sportier version of the standard Ray, and comes with a host of improvements.
First up, the design has been completely revamped. The RZ gets an edgier-looking body, new headlights and tail lights, and shouty graphics, along with contrasting colour panels. Other new additions include a new speedometer design, alloy wheels, and an optional front disc brake.
The new Ray ZR employs the same 113cc single-cylinder engine that Yamaha uses in all their other scooters. This engine, which produces 7 bhp and 8.1 Nm torque, is known to be a smooth performer, and can return a decent mileage as well.
Yamaha has not revealed the prices as of now, but expect the Ray RZ to sit at the top of their scooter range as its new flagship, at around Rs 65,000 on-road.
