During the April-December period of FY’14-15, Bajaj auto experienced a negative growth of about 13% in sales. The company aims to regain its declining market share in India by launching as many as 6 new products in the next 6 months. Amongst them will be the much-awaited Pulsar SS400 sportsbike, and an all-new 100cc bike.
The introduction of a new 100cc bike highlights the company’s aspiration to have a significant presence in the highly-competitive entry-level commuter segment. Bajaj aims to achieve a market share of more than 20% by March 2015.
Bajaj Auto President S.Ravikumar revealed in an interview with PTI that the company will launch one product every month over the next 6 months. He also said that the new 100cc bike will be sold alongside the Platina and the Discover. Bajaj hopes that the slew of launches would help it reclaim atleast some of the domestic market share it had earlier lost to the likes of TVS, Honda and Hero Motorcorp.
