Italian motorcycle brand Benelli entered the Indian market with its entire line-up last year .The company has built a considerable reputation for offering high quality, high performance motorcycles. What was lacking was an entry level performance bike for the masses. The TNT 300 is a great bike, but its premium price put off prospective buyers. Benelli has now launched the TNT 25-a high performance, entry-level motorcycle that will go head-to-head against the KTM Duke 200 and the Mahindra Mojo.
The TNT 25 looks quite similar to the TNT 300. The bike is equipped with stylish halogen headlights and attractive LED tail lamps. The large fuel tank is eye catching and so is the alloy wheel design. Benelli will offer the TNT 25 in 2 colours-Bianco (White) and Rosso (Red). Overall, the design looks very sporty and will appeal to majority of motorcycle enthusiasts.
The standard features on the TNT 25 include:
The TNT 25 is powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid cooled engine that churns out 28.15 bhp at 9800 rpm and has a peak torque output of 21.61 Nm at 8000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The TNT 25 gets 280mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear for effective braking. ABS is unavailable at the moment but may be offered in the future. Suspension duty is carried out by USD front forks and offset rear Monoshock.
The Benelli TNT 25 is an attractive, sporty looking bike with impressive tech specs. The bike is well equipped for the price, although lack of ABS is surprising. The powerful engine is expected to deliver good performance as well. The TNT 25 comes in two variants. The standard variant is priced at Rs. 1,68,000 and the premium variant is priced at Rs. 1,75,000 (Both ex-showroom Delhi). Stay tuned for an in depth review of the TNT 25 soon.
