Benelli TRK 502 – First Look

The Indian two-wheeler market is gradually starting to mature. During the last two years, we have witnessed a diverse variety of motorcycles entering the market. These include street bikes, cruisers, track bikes, commuters etc. However, if there was one thing that was lacking in the market, it is the choice of adventure bikes. This has started to change with major players like Royal Enfield and Kawasaki entering this segment. In order to stay competitive, other manufacturers are joining this segment as well. Benelli is one such company. The Italian bike manufacturer displayed the practical TRK 502 at the Delhi Auto expo.

The TRK 502 certainly looks the part and has a sense of ruggedness associated with it. If launched, it will be the most affordable twin-cylinder adventure bike in the Indian market. The bike gets the standard adventure bike gear-The large windscreen at the front, the half-fairing and interesting look twin headlamps. The windscreen and the half-fairing will ensure that wind blast is kept at minimal levels.

Powertrain and Features

The TRK 502 is equipped with a 499.6 cc engine that churns out a peak power of 47.6 bhp and peak torque of 45 Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. It gets USD forks at the front and a mono-shock setup at the rear.

The Benelli TRK 502 is equipped with the following features:

  • Front and Rear Disc brakes
  • ABS

First Impression

The TRK 502 will mostly make its way to Benelli’s stable later this year. Due to local assembly, we expect the TRK 502 to be priced competitively. The bike is well equipped and looks good as well. If Benelli gets its pricing right, the TRK 502 will be a hit product in the market. Stay tuned for more information.
