BMW Motorrad has just disclosed that it would be unveiling the successor to their best-selling bike, the R1200GS, at this year’s Intermot motorcycle expo, to be held in Cologne, Germany, in the first week of October. Globally renowned for its ability to conquer continents, the R1200GS is an enduro touring bike that also conquered the hearts of thousands of bikers around the world with its reliability and practicality. The worldwide sales figure of the R1200GS is expected to be more than 1,50,000 units, making it BMW’s most successful bike ever.
Rumours suggest that the new bike may come with a completely revamped version of the horizontally-opposed “boxer” twin-cylinder engine, featuring liquid-cooling instead of the outgoing model’s air-cooled unit. Expect the new model to be launched in India in a few months’ time, with the price expected to be in the region of Rs 16,00,000. Read below for the official statement released by BMW Motorrad:
