Hero MotoCorp is one company that has managed to do exceedingly well in India despite its lackluster and mundane design. The reason being, the motorcycles made by the Indian company delivered fuel economy rates that put most of its rival companies to shame.
According to its latest TV commercial, Hero has redesigned its 100cc engine, which was first developed more than two decades ago. The retuned engine sees an increase in power by 0.5 bhp and now produces 8.2 bhp of power. The company also claims that despite the boost in power, fuel economy rate has also been improved.
This 100cc engine was at the heart of most of its commuter bikes such as the Hero Splendor, Passion Plus, CD 100 and HF Dawn. The new engine will as of now power the Passion XPro, Passion Pro and Splendor Pro Classic, but might soon be included in other Hero models as well.
