Honda Navi begins journey from factory to showroom

Honda took the spotlight during the 2016 Auto Expo held in Delhi earlier this year by unveiling the Navi- a unique crossover of Scooter and Motorcycle. Since its unveil, the Navi has experienced tremendous response mainly due to its unique looks and affordable price tag. Now, the company has commenced dispatch of the Navi to dealerships across India. The Navi will first hit showrooms in Mumbai and will subsequently make its way into other dealerships across the country.

Despite being a 110cc scooter, what sets the Navi apart is the fact that there are literally no other scooters like this in the market. It, therefore has a “wow” factor to it, which  will appeal to younger audience. Earlier, Honda launched a dedicated app for android users which can be used for booking and gathering information. The Navi will be available in 3 variants- Navi Street, Navi Adventure and Navi off-road. Navi’s USP is its customisability.

The Navi is available in the following 5 colours:

  • Patriot Red
  • Shasta White
  • Black
  • Hopper Green
  • Sparky Orange

The Navi is powered by a 4-stroke 110cc, air-cooled engine that churns out peak power of 7.72 bhp at 7000 rpm and peak torque of 8.96 Nm at 5500 rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. The engine makes use of Honda Eco Technology that claims to improve mileage significantly. We currently can’t speculate on mileage but we expect the on-road mileage to be about 60 kmpl.  With a Kerb Weight of 101 Kg, the Navi is amongst the Lightest scooters in India.

The Navi is priced at Rs. 39,500 (Ex-showroom Delhi). Based on the response from the crowd and its low price tag, it is very likely that the Moto-scooter will be a success in the market. It’s only a matter of time for the Navi to hit your nearest Honda dealership. Stay tuned for a full-fledged review of the Honda Navi.
