With the growth of e-commerce, it is possible to buy literally anything online these days. Therefore, it was only a matter of time before automobile manufacturers started to capitalize on this web platform. Earlier, we reported that Hero Motocorp and Mahindra Two-wheelers experienced success on Snapdeal and Paytm respectively. Now, Bajaj, KTM and Kawasaki have listed their products on the popular e-commerce website-Flipkart.
Currently, only users from Bangalore can use the portal to book the bikes. Flipkart will eventually expand and add more dealers from other metropolitan cities. Bajaj’s listing includes the entry level CT100, the Discover series and the flagship Pulsar series. Kawasaki has listed most of its products, right from the base Z250 to the Ninja 1000. Currently, the ZX-10R, ZX-14R and the H2 are not sold on the portal. KTM has listed the Duke as well as RC series of bikes.
Irrespective of the model selected, users have to pay a booking fee of Rs. 3000. The on-road price will be available with the allotted dealer. The user then has to complete the relevant documentation with the dealer. Flipkart is offering vouchers worth up to Rs. 10,000 upon successful purchase of the motorcycles.
