Austrian motorcycle giant KTM has gained a reputation for offering outstanding value-for-money products in the market. The company’s flagship bike-the RC 390 gets equipment, which are lacking even in some of the more premium bikes in its segment. Now, the company has strengthened its reputation by announcing that Daytime running lights will be a standard feature on all KTM bikes in India.
Despite being a safety feature, Daytime running lamp usually adds to the visual drama of the motorcycle. This is because the addition of DRL’s (Daytime Running Lamps) will also include the use of LED strips on the headlamp. However, KTM will not offer LEDs on the headlamp. The low beam will be switched on at all times. Standard premium features across the KTM range include Fuel Injection, Liquid Cooling, ABS(Duke 390 and RC 390) , Projector Lights (RC 200 and RC 390), Slipper clutch (Duke 390 and RC 390), upside down forks and Daytime running lights.
Daytime running lamps will have to be mandatory on all two-wheelers from 2017, by the order of the Indian government. With the addition of this new feature, we expect a marginal hike in the price of the 2016 models. Stay tuned for more information.
