On early Sunday morning, Chennai’s famous East Coast Road seemed as though it was painted in orange. Around 60 Duke 200s made their way to the ECR Speedway go-kart track, for the annual Orange Day, an event organized by KTM in major cities all around India, exclusively for owners of the Duke 200. Participants could choose to race their Dukes against each other, or sit back and enjoy watching others slug it out.
Since most of the riders were new to racing on a track, an expert racer guided the participants for a few laps, instructing them on nuances of track riding. About 20 riders participated in the races. Their bikes were all prepped for track riding by the service team from KTM Chennai, who brought in a truckload of equipment for supporting the races. Six of the fastest riders from the elimination races were chosen to ride the final race, where the top three were awarded goodies from KTM.
Another highlight of this event was the stunt show by the Throttlerz from Coimbatore. Their breath-taking stunts on the Duke left the audience awestruck and astounded. It also showcased the abilty of the Duke 200 to effortlessly pull off wheelies, stoppies and doughnuts.
