At last, here it is! After nearly a year since its public unveil, KTM has finally launched its much-awaited sport bike twins, the RC200 and the RC390 in India today. While all technical details about them have been out on the open for quite a while, what we had all been waiting for with bated breath was the price. And boy, are we glad to say it has been well worth the wait.

The RC200 and the RC390 have been priced tantalizingly at Rs 1,60,000 and Rs 2,05,000 respectively (ex-showroom, Delhi). At this point, the bikes provide exceptional value for your rupee, offering dynamic performance with single-minded focus that is rarely seen here.

If you didn’t already know, the RC200 and RC390 carry the same mechanicals and chassis bits as their Duke counterparts, but with a few key parameters such as steering rake, wheelbase and ground clearance altered to sharpen handling characteristics and make it more track-focussed. The full-fairing means that the sport bikes are also heavier than their naked stable mates, so they should be a fraction slower on the run to 100kmph, but their aerodynamic nature should make it a whole lot more comfortable to cruise at high speed.

The RC200 would be a great option if you are a new rider looking for a fun bike to hone your skills on, but if you are more experienced, the RC390 should guarantee endless hours of fun. Bookings for the bikes will start on 10th September 2014 in all KTM showrooms across the country. Performance biking in India has just received another shot in the arm!
