Piaggio has confirmed that they will launch the Vespa S on 4th March 2014. The Vespa S is a sportier version of the VX 125. First showcased for India at the 2014 Auto Expo, it employs the same 10bhp 125cc engine and monocoque chassis as the VX 125, but comes with a rectangular headlamp, a new seat, a redesigned front apron with cubby holes, and a new instrument cluster. The Vespa S will also sport black powder-coated alloy wheels, red front suspension spring, and a disc brake at the front wheel.
The Vespa S will be priced at Rs 82,868 (on-road, Pune), around Rs 4000 more than the VX version. We expect that the sporty styling of the Vespa S will attract male consumers that most, especially those from the younger generation. The scooter will be available in four colours, red, white, orange and matte black.
