Royal Enfield has officially launched the much anticipated Himalayan motorcycle in India. The Himalayan is the first ever indigenously developed adventure bike in India. The Himalayan aims to deliver pure motorcycling experience in the offbeat terrain without making a huge dent in your wallet.
We think the Himalayan looks great but there are some people out there who are sceptical about its looks. To be fair, one can’t recognize the Himalayan to be a Royal Enfield at first glance. The rugged tyres and the upright riding position aim to deliver a great off road experience. The minimalistic design works well on the Himalayan.
The Himalayan is an extremely important product for Royal Enfield. The bike is equipped with an all new 410cc engine that churns out a peak power of 24.2 bhp and has a peak torque output of 32 Nm at 4000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. We would have liked to have another gear on the bike.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan is priced at Rs. 1,78,872 (On-road Mumbai) which makes it the most affordable dual purpose motorcycle in India. It is extremely rugged and claims to offer a pure off road experience. It also has a sense of uniqueness to it as there are no other bikes like the Himalayan in the market. We expect the Himalayan to do well and gain its own cult following. Stay tuned for a full-fledged review soon. Learn more about the Himalayan Here.
