In an attempt to address their lagging sales figures in the motorcycle segment, Suzuki has refreshed their 112cc commuter, the Hayate. The company has been struggling to push the commuter out of showrooms lately, and this could act as a catalyst to increase their sales in the 100cc commuter segment.
The new Hayate will now be available with a few additions, such as a maintenance-free battery, tubeless tires, and five fresh new colour schemes - Black/Blue, Black/red, Grey, White, and Black. The bike also sees the inclusion of a 5-step adjustable rear shock absorber. No other mechanical changes have been done, and the refreshed Hayate makes do with the same 8.1 bhp 112.8cc mill as before.
These changes should appeal to commuter-segment consumers. The new Suzuki Hayate is now priced at Rs. 49,704 for the kick-variant and Rs. 53,911 for the electric-start variant (both prices are on-road, Mumbai)
