Indian cruiser powerhouse Royal Enfield has completed its purchase of British motorcycle performance company, Harris Performance Products this week. By doing so, the company has acquired all employees, assets, trade names and technology associated with the British brand.
Harris Performance Products is a reputed company with more than forty years of experience in the two wheeler performance segment. The company has proven its expertise in two wheeler technology by helping premium brands such as Yamaha and Suzuki to develop motorcycles for MotoGP. The company’s technology was crucial in developing Royal Enfield’s flagship café racer - the Continental GT.
Royal Enfield CEO Siddhartha Lal has said that Harris Performance’s expertise in motorbikes will allow the company to develop new products more efficiently. He also confirmed that all of Harris Performance employees will now work for Royal Enfield, and that they will be a part of the company’s upcoming tech centre in UK. Commenting on the acquisition, Steve Harris, founder of Harris Performance Products, has said that the company is proud to be a part of the Eicher family, and is looking forward to contributing to Royal Enfield’s success.
