Reports have emerged that Suzuki Motorcycles India has reduced the price of its premium performance bike, the 250cc Inazuma, by a whopping Rs 1 lakh! This brings it down to Rs 2.61 lakhs on-road, Mumbai, from the earlier Rs 3.61 lakhs. What’s more, as a goodwill gesture, Suzuki will also be refunding the difference to those who have already purchased the bike.
Powered by a 250cc parallel twin-cylinder engine, the Inazuma is a talented bike, but its biggest weakness has always been its exhorbitant price tag. Suzuki never had a real contender to take on the likes of KTM, Kawasaki, Honda and Hyosung in India, but with this price cut, they are back in the game with a high-quality motorcycle that is the more practical option for those looking to purchase a bike in this category. It may still be more expensive than the KTM Duke 390, but the Inazuma is now the least-expensive multi-cylinder bike you can buy in India.
While we're not sure exactly how Suzuki managed to knock such a huge chunk off the Inazuma's asking price, it is nevertheless a very smart move, given the performance bike onslaught that's on the horizon for India.
