Close on the heels of opening its first showroom in North India in New Delhi, Triumph officially inaugurated Harbour City Motors, their official dealership in Chennai. This is the company’s eighth showroom in the country, and the fourth in South India.
Located in Egmore, one of the city’s busiest locales, Harbour City Motors is a fully-functional dealership with an integrated service centre. The showroom has the entire Triumph range for display, along with test ride bikes for potential customers to experience.
A unique feature about Triumph showrooms is the ‘Build Your Own Bike’ station. Here, customers themselves can virtually configure the bike of their choice with a wide variety of official Triumph performance and cosmetic accessories according to their preferences, and submit the final result to the dealer, who will then deliver the same. Apart from this, the showroom also has on sale Triumph-branded riding gear and merchandise.
The iconic British bike manufacturer has had a Triumph-ant entry into the Indian market. Since its launch in November 2013, the company has received terrific response from consumers, and has sold over 450 motorcycles in the country till date. Apart from the one in Chennai, Triumph currently has 7 other showrooms in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Pune, Mumbai, and New Delhi. A 9th showroom will be opened in Kolkata by mid-July 2014. With such an aggressive strategy in place to market a well-priced range of bikes, we think that it will only be a matter of months before Triumph catches up with Harley-Davidson, the current sales leader in the segment in India.
