Scooty Pep Plus

TVS Motors has experienced tremendous success in the scooter segment over the years due to the Scooty series of light weight scooters. The Scooty range has evolved a lot since its initial launch, with new products like the Scooty Zest- A more powerful alternative to the Pep +. However, the company continues to sell the Pep+ in large, which is seen by many as the ideal first scooter. Now, TVS Motors has launched an updated version of Scooty Pep+.

Colours and Features

Scooty Pep plus

The 2016 Scooty Pep+ is available in a variety of colours (11 in total), which makes it all the more appealing. For the full list of available colours, please check out the scooter’s official website. The Pep + is equipped with a bunch of useful features such as:

  • Mobile charging port
  • Side stand alarm
  • Clear lens indicator
  • Eazy stand technology

Powertrain

The new scooter is powered by a new 88 cc, air-cooled Ecothrust engine that churns out a peak power of 4.9 bhp and peak torque of 5.8 Nm. These values are pretty low, but the fact is, the Pep + is one of the lightest scooters in India.

The biggest talking point is that the 2016 Scooty Pep + will allow riders to switch between two different riding modes-Economy and Power. Economy mode will deliver best mileage whereas power mode will deliver increased acceleration and top speed.

Suspension and Brakes

The 2016 Pep + is only available with drum brakes. Most owners will not complain as this low power, light weight scooter does not necessarily require the stopping power of a Disc brake. The scooter is equipped with telescopic front suspension and coil spring rear suspension.

Price

The all new TVS Scooty Pep + is priced at Rs. 42,153/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). At this range, the Pep + is virtually devoid of any competition. The Scooter will hit the showrooms soon across the country. Stay tuned for a full-fledged review of the TVS Scooty Pep +.
