With the growing popularity of the Scooter segment, manufacturers are looking to stay competitive by launching new products or by updating existing ones. Yamaha motorcycles India is one such company which has shown its intent to sell large volumes in this segment. The company recently launched the Fascino, a neo-retro scooter which has received positive response in the market. Now, Yamaha has made its existing scooter, the Alpha, more appealing by offering it with a new dual tone paint job.
The Alpha is available in 3 different dual-tone paint jobs namely, Gleaming gold, Beaming Blue and Rocking Red. The company hopes that these new shades will appeal to a larger audience base in the market. The dual-tone colour schemes will cost about Rs. 1000 more than the standard colours. The Dual-tone Alpha is priced at Rs. 49,939 (Ex-showroom Delhi).
The Alpha is powered by a 113 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that develops a peak power of 7 bhp @ 7500 rpm and has a torque output of 8.1 Nm @ 5000 rpm. A CVT gearbox transfers the power to the rear wheels. Notable features on the Alpha include “Blue Core” technology, which improves mileage and a 21-litre under-seat storage compartment.
