Bajaj Avenger 220 DTS-i Features and Overview

The 2016 Bajaj Avenger 220 DTSi is a cruiser-style bike sold by Bajaj Auto. It is powered by an air/oil-cooled 220cc twin-spark engine and comes with a 5-speed gearbox. The bike is built with long rides in mind. It has comfortable ergonomics like a low seat, forward placed foot controls, and comes with a wide foam seat for the rider and a backrest for the pillion. A low centre of gravity helps for better stability on the road. Electric start and a front disc brake are standard fitments on the bike, with accessories like a wind deflector available as optional.

The 2016 Bajaj Avenger 220 DTSi delivers a SIAM-rated mileage of 49.8 kmpl. It is priced at Rs.77,664(ex-showroom, Delhi), and is available in Plasma Blue, Cocktail Wine Red, and Midnight Black

The Avenger 220 employs typical cruiser design elements, accentuated by the long wheelbase and low seat height, both of which aid stability while riding at highway speeds. The foot pegs are set forward, and the handlebars and set slightly high and wide, so as to reduce strain and fatigue on the rider when riding for long durations.

The Avenger 220 is powered by an air/oil-cooled 219cc twin-spark engine. This engine s character is atypical for a cruiser, revving to a high maximum of 10,000 rpm, producing 19 bhp at 8400 rpm and 17.5 Nm torque @ 7000 rpm in the process. Drive is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox.

The Avenger 220 employs telescopic front forks and twin hydraulic shock absorbers. The suspension is set up moderately soft, optimized for comfort without compromising handling.

The Avenger 220 uses a single 260mm disc brake at the front wheel and 130mm drum brake at the rear.

Those looking for a bike that can be used for daily commutes and for long rides on the highway should definitely check out the Bajaj Avenger 220 DTSi
