Bajaj Auto has recently launched its new and improved Discover 125 which is a mid-segment commuter from the Discover series of Bajaj Auto featuring the Exhaust Torque Expansion Chamber technology (ExhausTEC) and 4-Valve technology.
The New Discover 125 should deliver an average mileage of 76 kmpl. It is priced at Rs.48,500(ex-showroom, Delhi) and comes in several colours namely Green/Silver, Magenta/Silver, Electron Blue, Black Ice Blue, Platinum Silver, and Wine Red.
The bike is a well-designed commuter bike aimed primarily at the younger generation. It offers the rider an upright riding position, with wide handlebars and middle-set foot pegs, which offers good comfort while riding for extended durations.
This bike is powered by a single-cylinder air-cooled 4-valve engine with a displacement of 125cc, producing a peak power of 11.5bhp at 8000 rpm. The DTS-i technology aids in rapid combustion and ExhausTEC helps improve mileage. The bike comes fitted with a manual 5 speed gearbox.
The front suspension employs a telescopic front forks suspension system with 130mm travel, and the rear part uses twin gas charged shock absorbers with 110mm travel.
The bike employs a 130mm drum brake at the front and the rear wheels. A 200mm front disc brake is offered as an optional extra.
The new Bajaj Discover 125cc is a reasonably powerful bike in the 125-150cc segment and it delivers. It s a great bike for both short and long commutes, and is well-suited for highway riding too.
