The 2016 K 1300 S is a 1300 cc fully faired super sports bike imported and sold by BMW in India. The K 1300 Swas introduced in October 2008 to replace the K 1200 S. The K 1300 S was one of the most radically styled BMWs when it was first launched.
The 2016 BMW K 1300 S has eye catching details and an aggressive stance, which makes it appealing to motorcycle enthusiasts across the country. The body fairing makes it heavier than its sibling and also makes it slightly difficult to navigate through traffic. The bike has a bridge type frame with cast aluminium section. The bike offers the rider an aggressive riding position. This position provides an aerodynamic advantage as the air flows around the bike, rather than through it.
The BMW K 1300 S is powered by a 1293 cc, in-line 4 cylinder engine that churns out a peak power of 175 bhp at 9250 rpm and has a peak torque output of 140 Nm at 8250 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. The bike comes with fuel injection technology as standard.
The K 1300 S is equipped with BMW Motorrad Duolever with central spring strut at the front. At the rear the bike is equipped with Cast aluminium single-sided swing arm with BMW Motorrad Paralever, central spring strut with lever system. The suspension system does a commendable job in tackling road bumps.
The BMW K 1300 S comes equipped with 320mmdisc brakes at the front and 265mm disc brake at the rear.
