The 2016 K 1600 GT is a 1650 cc faired touring bike imported and sold by BMW in India. The K 1600 GT was introduced in October 2010. The K 1600 GT is positioned above its sibling- the K 1300 GT.
The 2016 BMW K 1600 GT has eye catching details and amateur stance, which makes it appealing to sports tourer enthusiasts across the country. The body fairing makes the bike heavy and also makes it slightly difficult to navigate through traffic. The bikehas a bridge type frame with cast aluminium section. The bike offers the rider an upright and relaxed riding position. This allows for long distance cruising without fatigue.
The BMW K 1600 GT is powered by a 1649 cc, in-line 6-cylinder engine that churns out a peak power of 160 bhp at 7750 rpm and has a peak torque output of 175 Nm at 5250 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. The bike comes with fuel injection technology as standard.
The K 1600 GT is equipped with BMW Motorrad Duolever with central spring strut at the front. At the rear the bike is equipped with BMW Motorrad Paralever. The suspension system does a commendable job in tackling road bumps.
The BMW K 1600 GT comes equipped with 320mm dual-disc brakes at the front and 320mm single disc brake at the rear.
