Honda CBR 250R Features and Overview

The 2016 Honda CBR 250R is a 250cc sport tourer bike sold by Honda in India. The bike is powered by a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 250cc single cylinder engine, and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike comes equipped with features such as an aerodynamically designed full-body fairing, Combined Anti-Lock Braking System (C-ABS), a digital-analogue speedometer, 5-spoke alloy wheels, and electric starter.

The 2016 Honda CBR 250R delivers an average mileage of 35 kmpl. It is priced at priced at Rs.1,59,533(ex-showroom, Delhi), and is available in Black, Pearl Amazing White and Sports Red.

The bike is positioned as a sport touring bike, and is designed for travelling long distances at highway speeds. The full-body layered fairing, a design trait inherited from the bigger VFR 1200F, aids in channelling air flow around the rider, minimising wind blast and aiding them to cut through the air efficiently. The ergonomics offered by the CBR 250R fall on the sporty side, with clip-on handle bars and rear set foot pegs. This position offers maximum control over the bike at highway speeds, although it would apply some stress on the lower back and on the wrists for first-time riders.

It is powered by a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 4-valve dual overhead camshaft 249cc single cylinder engine that produces 25 bhp @ 8500 rpm and 22.9 Nm torque @ 7000 rpm. The engine mated to a six-speed gearbox, via which power is transmitted to the rear wheel.

It is equipped with telescopic forks at the front, and an adjustable mono shock at the rear. The rear shock absorber can be adjusted manually for the desired stiffness.

The bike comes shod with a 276mm front disc brake and a 220mm rear disc brake. A Combined Anti-lock Braking System (C-ABS) is also offered as an optional extra.

Those who want a sports bike that can be used for city commutes, and for long leisure rides, should consider buying the Honda CBR 250R.
