About KTM
History

KTM Sportmotorcycle AG is an Austria-based motorcycle manufacturer, specializing in off-road, enduro and motocross bikes. The company was established in 1934 in Mattighofen, Austria, by Hanz Trunkenpolz. KTM first started out as a metalworking shop, and in 1954, started manufacturing motorcycles.

KTM was introduced in India in 2012 by Bajaj Auto, which had earlier bought a 47% stake in the company. The Austrian manufacturer's first products jointly developed in collaboration with Bajaj, the 125 Duke / 200 Duke, turned to be a huge success world over, catapulting KTM to become the largest motorcycle manufacturer in Europe.

As of October 2013, KTM has two bikes, the 200 Duke and  the 390 Duke, on sale in India, with many more expected to be launched in the near future.
