KTM RC200 Features and Overview

The much-awaited 2016 KTM RC 200, which was unveiled in September 2014, is the fully-faired track-focused version of the KTM Duke 200.

The 2016 KTM RC 200 mileage is about 35 kmpl. The bike is available only in Black. The KTM RC 200 price as of January 2016 is Rs.1,66,738(ex-showroom, Delhi).

The KTM RC 200 hails from the company’s legendary ‘Race Competition’ series. It features an aggressively-styled aerodynamic front-end which should significantly reduce the effects of drag and windblast. The mechanicals and chassis parts are almost exactly the same as the Duke 200, save for the clip-on handlebars, rear-set foot pegs, and a slightly steeper steering rake. As with most performance bikes, pillion riding is quite arduous for long commutes but is otherwise manageable.

The KTM RC 200 is powered by a 199.5cc single cylinder engine that is liquid-cooled and fuel-injected. It is capable of producing a peak power of 25bhp at 10,000rpm and 19.2 Nm at 8000rpm.Power is transmitted to the rear via a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The KTM RC 200 comes with an upside down telescopic front suspension system with 125mm travel and uses a 10-step hydraulic monoshock rear suspension unit with 150mm travel.

The KTM RC200 employs a 300mm dia. front disc brake, while a single disc brake of 230mm is used on the rear.

The KTM RC 200 for its performance and price is value for money. It can be used for short peppy commutes within the city and for weekend track days as well. Check out the KTM RC 200 review in the section below.

Not too long ago, we tested the KTM RC 390. Boy, what a machine it was! It was extremely fast, and it corners with such finesse and precision, as though its life depended on it. We’ve said it before, and we’re reiterating it again – the RC 390 is nothing short of a revelation for Indian biking enthusiasts.
